Concluding Ceremony
Governor Punjab Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Khalid Maqbool was the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony of the third “Made in Gujranwala” Industrial Exhibition 2003. He paid a visit to the Industrial Exhibition to be held at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park and was warmly welcomed by the President of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kh. Tahir Hasan, S.V.P. Haji Ahsan-ullah Chughtai, V.P. Ch. Shafique Ahmad, Ex. President Sheikh Muhammad Naseem, Sheikh Muhammad Aslam, Haji Murad Ali, Riaz Mehmood Bajwa, Nawaz Ahmad Bajwa, Muhammad

He took a round of various stalls. While addressing the ceremony, Governor of Punjab urged the industrialists to concentrate on exports by improving quality and adopting new marketing trends. He said “The industrialists are sharing government welfare hospitals, educational institutes and even arranging such exhibitions.” Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Industrial Exhibition the Governor said that a strong national economy is imperative for the progress and prosperity of the county.

He said the government would provide better facilities to industrialists and announced that a three lane road would be constructed between Gujranwala and Lahore. The Governor directed the city tehsil council to work out for the construction of an export display center and added that the project of triplication of G.T. Road on either side from and to Lahore would be started within a few weeks. He added that the need to export is more now than it was in the past.
In the end of the ceremony, the Governor gave away the prizes to the stalls holders and to the organizers and congratulated them for conducting such a nice, informative and classical display of the products.
After the ceremony a dinner was arranged in his honor. All senior officials of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry along with city Nazim were also there with him.
