Mrs. Zubaida Jalal,
the Federal Minister for Education while addressing a formal meeting organized
by the Members of the GCCI has said that the Pakistani products particularly
the products on display at the fourth Made in Gujranwala Industrial Exhibition
deserve to be praised and appreciated for their pristine quality. She
said if the existing standard of products is accorded with the modern
technology and technical education, it can have pleasant effects on the
country's economy and industrial development. She emphasized the need
to harmonize the country's economy with the public expectations. The President
GCCI, Haji Shaukat Javed, Senior Vice President GCCI, Sheikh Muhammad
Ali and other office bearers also attended the meeting. She undertook
a short visit to the individual stalls and took keen interest in the various
items ranging from sweet candies to the heavy mechanical equipment. Later,
she had an exchange of views with the host members of GCCI and said that
only one percent of people in Pakistan, who are well off, are offering
unforgettable services in the industrial progress.

She disclosed
that the Government is planning to set up a national education council where
the industrialists from every district will be given a representation. She
made it clear that the government is determined to set up five separate
centers of technical education for boys and girls at every district level.
It will result in an improvement of the products at the national level besides
keeping the prices at a moderate level. She acknowledged the fact, without
reserve, that a common skilled worker of the country is doing a great job
and if he is provided with the advanced technology in accordance with the
modern demands, he can work wonders and boost the image of Pakistan over
here as well as abroad.
After concluding her visit to the 4th Industrial Exhibition, Mrs. Zubaida Jalal along with the Members of GCCI proceeded to the Shelton Hotel where she was offered shields for gracing the occasion. Later, she was served HI-TEA by the GCCI Members.
