Muhammad Javed Ashraf, the
federal secretary for Industry has said that he has witnessed a number
of exhibitions where the products from all parts of Pakistan are put on
display for the public but Made in Gujranwala is the first industrial
exhibition where only the locally manufactured items have been displayed.
He said that the quality and the standard of these products are above
board and they are in no way inferior to the products made by China, Korea,
India, and even Taiwan. He appreciated the efforts of the business community
in promoting industry and increasing the export of different commodities
to other countries of central Asia, Europe and America. He humorously
said that the people in the past recognized Gujranwala as the city of
wrestlers but now it has achieved a unique status by dint of its unique
products. He said that the export of Pakistan in all industrial sectors
is 5.5 % whereas there is an increase of 8.8 % in the industrial department.

the products value added for the purpose of export. It will certainly
have good effects on the country’s economy. He assured the manufacturers
that they will get a better response from the public if the standard of
the products is up to the mark and they sell it at a comparatively low
cost. He emphasized that this is the only way to capture the global market.
He said it is the moral duty of the state to provide a sense of security
to the citizens besides maintaining the law and order situation in the
country. The government is consistently trying to eradicate social and
religious unrest to attract foreign investment for the promotion of industry.
He said the government is ready to offer every possible help and support
to the industrialists in fulfilling their cherished goals. |
