Mr. Razzaq Dowood being offered a sheild by Mr. Akram Badshah (Convener MIG Exhibition)
|
Former Federal Minister for
Industry, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Dawood has borne out the fact that the various
articles displayed in the 4th Industrial Exhibition are much better in
respect of quality than the articles put on display last year at the same
exhibition. It is indicative of the fact that the industrialists of Gujranwala
have left no stones unturned to boost the country’s economy. He
said so while taking a round of the different stalls and keenly watching
the items in them. He was accompanied by Shaukat Javed, the President
GCCI, and Sheikh Muhammad Ali, Senior Vice President, the former presidents
GCCI Haji Murad Ali, Sheikh Muhammad Aslam, and Nawaz Ahmed Bajwa.
Mr. Abdul Razzaq said with a fair degree of confidence that the standard
of the Pakistani products is not only better than that of neighboring
countries rather they are so original that they can easily compete at
the international level. He said as soon as the world’s largest
markets are opened under the WTO for the free trade, our products will
be in a position to compete easily with the products of India, China,
Iran and Afghanistan. Rather they would enjoy an edge over the rest in
many respects.

Appreciating the quality of the electric fans at MIG Exhibition

He called upon the local manufacturers to further improve
the standard and quality of their products because the countries of Africa
are considered as the biggest market for the purchase of sanitary fittings,
sanitary ware and crockery. He said that there is no doubt that the demand
of the above products is much more in Pakistan but the industrialists
should strife sincerely to explore them. They can do so only when they
are imbued with a spirit of nationalism and patriotism. He said that an
export of 225 million Dollars is not a big deal for Gujranwala and a target
of 500 million Dollars is not difficult to achieve because the manufactured
items are attractive, durable, and long lasting. He stressed the industrialists
to negotiate with the bankers for consumer financing just like the multinational
companies.
